Dr Jessica Gallagher joins KTF Board
KTF is delighted to welcome Dr Jessica Gallagher to our Board of Directors.
Dr Gallagher is the Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Global Engagement and Entrepreneurship) at The University of Queensland (UQ) where she is responsible for the continued development and implementation of the University’s Global Strategy and Entrepreneurship Strategy. She leads a number of key institutional partnership activities, strategic engagement events, business development opportunities and a wide range of programs designed to create change in global communities and to extend the University’s reputation and reach.
A meeting between KTF’s CEO Dr Genevieve Nelson and Jessica during a visit by the UQ Vice-Chancellor’s delegation to Papua New Guinea (PNG) in August 2019 proved fortuitous, beginning the journey to her appointment.
“It’s such a pleasure to welcome someone of Dr Gallagher’s stature to our board. Her strong strategic skills, and her deep and relevant knowledge, is already benefiting the foundation’s work. What’s also clear is that Jessica’s encounters with PNG have given her a great passion for the country and its people!” KTF Chair, Ian Kemish.
Jessica looks forward to enhancing bonds with our nearest neighbour in her new capacity.
“I am delighted to have the opportunity to contribute to the work of KTF, which is improving the lives of so many people in PNG and strengthening connections between our two countries. The physical distance between Australia and PNG is relatively small, but the divide, in terms of access to education, health care services and basic infrastructure is enormous.”
The Board of Directors and team are excited to benefit from Jessica’s expertise and experience to continuously improve and develop the delivery of our programs in health, education, leadership and livelihoods to enhance lives and futures in Papua New Guinea. Welcome Jessica!
