Celebrating International Women's Day 2023

Today, on International Women’s Day, we celebrate the women forging change in their schools, places of work, communities and broader society in PNG. It is a day to celebrate the extraordinary impact that women play in creating change; but to also reflect that we have a long way to go to achieving Gender Equality.

Wemah

Wemah is a multi-talented woman juggling studying and motherhood, she attended the rural and remote Morehead FODE and has been accepted to the Balimo Teacher’s College which are SDP programs implemented in partnership with KTF.

Jessica

Jessica is a pillar of her community providing high-quality healthcare in her rural aid post, she is part of KTF's Healthy Communities program which is supported by the Australian Government through the Australian NGO Cooperation Program (ANCP).

Sandy

Sandy is a strong advocate against family and sexual violence in PNG and founded Oro Province's first Safe House in partnership with KTF and is supported by the Australian Government through the Australian NGO Cooperation Program (ANCP).

Maisy

Maisy is one of KTF's talented and innovative Archer Leaders and Archer Reignite Grant Winners, she has gone on to become a local champion and leader for the youths of PNG. The Archer program is supported by the Fred P Archer Trust (managed by Perpetual), Newcrest Sustainability Fund and Kina Bank.
